Manufacturing as environmentally friendly as possible and under humane conditions, honestly and with love, that matters to us. At Okimono this is how we do it:

Ever since the beginning Okimono has chosen a clothing and textile production that’s free of exploitation and that prevents environmental damage and animal suffering as much as possible. To further emphasize this, in July 2016 Okimono signed the IRBC Agreement for sustainable Garments and Textiles, AGT – powered by the Dutch Social and Economic Council SER. The corresponding reviews and exchanges keep us sharp and make sure that we keep striving to improve our clothing.

Okimono has a socially responsible production in mind, guided by the following criteria:
No use of child labour
No use of forced labour
Safe and healthy working conditions
Legal employment contracts
Fair living wages
Freedom of association
The right of collective negotiations
No discrimination of employees
No excessive working hours

ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS

Our premium quality eco-cotton T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, sweaters and aprons are produced by a manufacturer in Portugal, under save and healthy labour conditions. The cotton comes from Turkey and is GOTS certified from raw fibre up to and including the dye. The clothing is printed either in Portugal or at a textile printing company in Elst, The Netherlands.

A renowned Italian sports specialist uses only high-quality synthetic materials for our cycling clothing. All these materials have OEKO-TEX Standard 100, UNI and ISO certifications and are printed with water-based inks. Production takes place in Italy and Ukraine, with the same collective labour agreement for all employees.

Okimono does not use any animal materials.

RECYCLE LOVE: YOUR SHIRT FOR OUR PLANET

Okimono likes to look after you, our valued customer and after the earth. That’s why we have our very own T-shirt-support-programme ‘Recycle Love’. Come visit the Okimono Store in Arnhem, to return your worn-down shirt for a €7.50 discount on a replacement or even €15 on the gorgeous ‘Recycle Love’ T-shirt. In return we make sure that the old one is properly recycled by Curitas, instead of being shoved into just any incinerator. And on top of that, for every shirt that is recycled, we will donate €2.50 to Trees for All, for the worldwide planting of new forests!
